Kevin Streelman

PGA Golfer

What is your career highlight so far?

My career highlight came in 2008 at the US Open at Torrey Pines.  On the 72nd hole (the day was Father's Day), my dad caddied for me and I made a 20-foot putt for birdie.  Having my dad share that experience in front of the US Open crowd was timeless!

What is your favorite part about being a golfer?

My favorite part of being a golfer is having the opportunity to travel across the world and to play some of the best golf courses every created..

What advice do you have for an aspiring pro athlete?

My advice is to not let temporary failure or setbacks change your level of confidence in your abilities.  They happen to everyone; it's how we let them affect us that determines our future.

Who were your heroes growing up?

My dad.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Social studies and history.

When did you first know that you had the talent to be a pro?

2004 Western Open-I Monday qualified and I played a practice round with Mike Weir (he had just won the Masters).  While I didn't think I was as good as him, I felt confident that I could compete with players on the PGA Tour.

What is your favorite quote and why?

Some people dream of success, others wake up and work hard at it.
This is my favorite quote because I firmly believe that my hard work has gotten me to where I am, professionally.
