What advice do you have for an aspiring gymnast? Work hard and always have goals set so you have something to work towards.
What age did you start gymnastics and why? I started as soon as I could walk. Both of my parents were gymasts and they owned a gym. I grew up in the gym.
What was your favorite part about being a gymnast? Tough question. I loved everything about it. I really enjoyed competing and representing the country. It was so cool and made me so proud to be a part of the team representing the US.
Who were your heroes growing up? First and foremost, my parents. They set such a great example for me. As far as gymnasts go, I looked up to the 1996 Olympic team.
What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject was math. I really like working with numbers.
What was your favorite event in gymnastics? My favorite event is bars. I've always liked it. I also like to tumble on the floor.
What was the toughest part about being a gymnast? Injuries. They are a part of every sport. They are very tough to come back from. My parents and other people in the gym were very good and supportive and there for me on the tough days.
What is on your ipod? Alot of country music. It is my favorite.
What do you do in your free time? I love to read. I read all the time and walk on my treadmill. I'm reading a James Patterson book right now, I read a lot of his books.
What is your greatest accomplishment in gymnastics? There are two. Winning the World Championships all around in 2005 and then making the Olympic team and getting a silver medal as a team..
What is your favorite color and why? I like purple but my favorite color to wear is black. |
