If you had a choice, who would you like to fight?
I don't really have anyone in mind. I just want to continue to fight and climb up the ladder. I will fight whomever Strikeforce asks me to fight.
What is your career highlight so far?
My last fight. I spent a lot more time in the ring than I have before. I got to try out a bunch of my tools.
What is your favorite part about being an MMA fighter?
I love the feeling I get when the cage closes and it's time to compete against another fighter. It's a rush.
Who were your heroes growing up?
My dad has obviously been a huge hero. My mom's brothers were also a big influence and role models.
If you were not an MMA fighter, what would you be?
Before I started fighting, I worked in a bank. I might still be doing that. Otherwise, helping to run dad's gym.
Why did you decide to get into MMA?
It started as a hobby for fun. I realized I had a passion and talent for it. So I decided to give it a try.
What was your favorite subject in school?
I got my degree in mathematics. The problem solving, the logic, and the way you can work through things was my favorite part.
What do you do in your free time?
Hang out with friends and relax. If the weather is nice, go out to the pool or go for a hike.
What advice do you have for an aspiring MMA fighter?
Find a good gym with training partners and coaches who will push you and that you can trust. Also, it is important to dedicate yourself to training.
