What advice do you have for an aspiring MMA Fighter?

Never ever get discouraged, there are so many times where I think that I have reached my limit and thats when you push through and it becomes the most rewarding experience. You would be surprised how far you can go and what you can accomplish if your mindset is strong and on point.

What is your career highlight so far?

My biggest career highlight thus far would definitely have to be when I went to Poland to compete in the 2010 FILA World Grappling Championships and brought home two Gold medals in both Gi & No-Gi. It was truly an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back and compete again.

If you had the choice who would you like to fight?

Megumi Fuji, She has always been my role model in this sport since day one. She is an incredible fighter and always classy. I actually had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of times and the last time she was here in the states I had the pleasure of hanging out with her for the day, it was so much fun she truly is the one fight that I have always wanted to have the pleasure of taking.

If you were not an MMA fighter what would you be?

I would probably own my own gym which I plan on doing eventually or I would be involved in some sort of career that involved helping people, I'm always trying to be involved in charity work for women and kids in distress, it's another passion of mine to do anything I can to aid people in having a better life.

Who were your heroes growing up?

My mother was and always will be, she has been through so much in her life and she   took care of me and my brothers all on her own, She is the strongest woman I know.

What was your favorite subject in school? And why?

Anything dealing with Health & Science, it always grabbed my attention just to learn how our cells are created and how the body functions, it truly is amazing how all of our systems work and how things operate. Science is how we exist, its an extraordinary thing.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Relax! I seldom have any free time so when I do I love to just keep it low key like going to the movies or just relax on the beach and spend time with friends and family. I also love to travel and see new places, I always try to leave the country and visit a new place at least once a year!
