1.) What has been your career highlight so far?

Being World number 2 in 2010, and 2011. Also being the 2x Ripcurl Pro Bells Beach Champion in 2011 & 2012

2.) Who were your heroes growing up?

I had a few different one's apart from my parents or brothers. When I was running Cathy Freeman inspired me when she won gold at the Sydney Olympics, Layne Beachley for what she achieved in women's surfing and even though I don't play tennis, Roger Federer's focus and sportsmanship is amazing.

3.) What advice do you have for an aspiring surfer?

Have FUN! That's how it all started for me with my Dad and brothers pushing me onto waves in the river mouth at home. Surf with a friend because it's double the fun. Try to get to the beach at sunrise and sunset because nature is beautiful. Also, never give up when it gets hard or the conditions seem too demanding.

4.) What was your favorite subject in school and why?

I did well at school and liked all my subjects but I guess Math was a favorite. But really sports was the most fun and when we got into the senior years, we actually went surfing for a sport before school, and then we got to go home early, that is pretty hard to beat.

5.) What is the toughest "move" or "maneuver" to master in surfing?

The toughest move is the one you can't do, haha! For me it is landing arials. There aren't many girls landing this at the moment, so that's the challenge.

6.) What do you do in your free time?

At the moment I train and surf a lot, but I don't mind reading while I'm traveling, watching or movies, or just catching up with friends. I follow all sorts of sports so when I'm home or even traveling I like to catch those big games or events live if possible.

7.) What is something about surfing that a casual fan wouldn't know about?

It is a really cleansing sport for the body and the mind. When you are surfing all your problems and stresses disappear and you leave the water feeling exhilarated. It is the best sport ever!
