1.) What advice do you have for an aspiring hockey player?

The biggest piece of advice I have for aspiring hockey players is have fun and work hard. The only way to be successful in anything in life is by enjoying what you are doing. Through practice and dedication there is no limit to what you can become. Although, there is always times to be serious, in the end hockey is always going to be a sport. Have fun, work hard and everything will take care of itself.

2.) What is your career highlight so far?

My career highlight so far was being able to represent Canada at the 2012 Under 18 World Championships. There is always something different about putting on your country's crest. It was an unbelievable experience that allowed me to grow as a player.

3.) Why should an NHL team draft you?

I believe an NHL team should draft me because I have a strong ethic, good leadership and on-ice skills . Whether its staying longer at the rink or at school I recognize that there is always room for improvement. On top of that I believe that my leadership qualities are something that not only I benefit from but it is also something that my teammates appreciate.

4.) What current NHL player do you play most like?

I would say I play most like Victor Hedman. He is someone who is very mobile with his size, has great puck movement and wins his battles. Those are keys that I like to incorporate into my game.

5.) Who were your heroes growing up?

My heroes growing up were my parents. Since my dad played in the CFL I was quick to always ask him questions about his playing days and what it took to play professionally. My mom was always the backbone of our family, from making dinner after long days at work to driving me back and forth from Toronto, her help was immeasurable. My parents have had the greatest impact on my life.

6.) What was your favorite subject in school? why?

My favorite subject in school was math. I always enjoyed finding solutions to tough problems. Working with numbers has been something I've liked throughout my life.

7.) What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy playing basketball and listening to music. Anytime I get a chance I like to get out and play basketball with my friends. Gives me a change of scenery. As for music, you name it I probably have it on my iPod. These two hobbies definitely take up a majority of my free time.

8.) What other sports did you play growing up?

Growing up I also played lacrosse. It allowed me to enjoy a different sport with my friends in the summertime. Its definitely important to play a mix of sports.
