A Hockey Player to look out for - Tyler Lewington


The Washington Capitals drafted Medicine Hat Tiger's Tyler Lewington in the 7th round of the 2013 NHL Draft with there 204th pick. The former Medicine Hat Tiger defenceman scored 2 goals, with 24 assists, to score a total of 26 points in the 2012-2013 season. Please find my interview with Tyler below.


Matthew: What can Capitals fans expect to see from you?

Tyler: A hard-worker. Also, a reliable shutdown defenceman. 


Matthew: What current NHL player do you play most like?

Tyler: I'd say a guy like Andrew Ference. 


Matthew: What are your goals for 2013 and beyond?

Tyler: Just to keep improving and getting better by working on my weaknesses in the game. I will work hard every single day.


Matthew: What has been your career highlight so far?

Tyler: Getting drafted! It's such an honor to be selected by the Capitals. 


Matthew: What advice do you have for an aspiring hockey player?

Tyler: Stay positive through it all, Keep working at it, and never give up because it's never over. 


Matthew: What does a typical day in the summer look like for you?

Tyler: Nothing to serious. Just get up in the morning, workout, hang out with friends, and once in a while I ski during the night.
