A Hockey Player to look out for - Anthony Brodeur

The New Jersey Devils drafted Anthony Brodeur with there 208th pick in the 7th round. He is coming off a good year with Shattuck St. Mary's. Anthony will be playing his 2013-2014 season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL. Please find my interview with Anthony below.

Matthew: What can New Jersey Devils fans expect to see from you?

Anthony: A lot of what my dad did, not to the extent of all the qualities he's accomplished, because he's one of the best goalies that's ever played the game. Hopefully, I can get some of what he did for the fans.

Matthew: What are your goals for 2013 and beyond?

Anthony: Next year, I'm playing up in Quebec, I would like to do really well up in Quebec next year. Hopefully, I can become a starting goalie next year, or the year after in Quebec. We'll see where that takes me, and after that I'm hopefully in the NHL.

Matthew: What has been your career highlight so far?

Anthony: Probably winning the championship my junior year at Shattuck. Our team won in Connecticut and that was one of the best feelings I've ever had.

Matthew: What advice do you have for an aspiring athlete?

Anthony: To keep working hard, and never get to down on yourself. Working hard is going to bring you to the next level.

Matthew: What does a typical day look like for you?

Anthony: I wake up, eat, I'll go workout, then I will come hang around the house. I eat 3-4 meals a day (I eat healthy). During the season at my school, I usually wake up, go to my school, practice and workout, then I did homework and went to bed. But now it will be a bit different.

Matthew: What was your reaction when you found out that you were just drafted on the same team as your dad - Martin Brodeur?

Anthony: I couldn't even tell you! I was so overwhelmed and excited to be a part of this amazing team. It was amazing. It's been a fun ride.
