Daryl Richardson

St. Louis Rams

1.) What advice do you have for an aspiring football player?

The best advice I can give is to work hard and believe in yourself. It's a lot of hard work so you have to know that you will have to give 100% at all times. Stay out of trouble, stay focused, and remain humble. Make sure you always keep your options open while you are working towards your dream. Get your education, make contacts, be involved in the community because a lot of people have talent but not everyone will make it to the NFL so you want to have a fall back plan. There are a lot of opportunities out there that people don't realize so you want to keep an open and realistic mind at all times.

2.) What has been your career highlight so far?

Other than being drafted, the best part of my whole football career was during my senior year of high school playing for Sandalwood High School. I had 260 yards, 2 touchdowns, and ended up leading the nation in rushing. That was a great game and time for me.

3.) What are your goals for 2013 and beyond?

For 2013 I would like to make the Pro Bowl, be an elite running back, help my team achieve success, give back to the community, and grow as a person. In the future I would like to be a #1 rated running back, break some records, play in some championships, be a pro bowler, win the Super Bowl, finish my college degree, make a difference in the world, take care of my family.

4.) Who were your heroes growing up?

My dad, brothers, mom, granny, and some of my coaches.

5.) What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to hang out with family, bowl, sleep, go to movies, eat, and just chill. I don't do much.

6.) What was your favorite subject in school? Why?

Probably something like Kineseology or Nutrition because they taught me about how the body worked and what it needs to function right. This is interesting and important to me because I like to know what's going on with my body and how I can take care of it.
