.) What advice do you have for an aspiring MMA Fighter? It's more then a career, it's a lifestyle. You have to live it every single day. It's hard to take days off because you get behind. Every aspect of your life has to revolve around MMA and fighting.
.) What has been your career highlight so far? Probably signing with the UFC. That's the highest point I've reached so far. It's a big high point, and a milestone. For me, it's just the beginning. I want to be the best in the world.
.) What are your goals for 2014? I just want to keep training, getting better as a fighter, and fight whoever the UFC puts against me. I want to gain more fans, put on a good show, and I want to help grow this sport.
.) What can UFC fans expect to see from you? I'm going to try to bring more excitement to the cage, and most importantly I'm going to win. I'm going to be the world champion and I'm not going to except anything less then that.
.) What does a typical training day look like for you? Each day's different. I train different aspects of martial arts every day. Usually, in the morning I'll have a technique class (wrestling, jiu-jitsu, muay-thai, kickboxing, sometimes conditioning). I work in some light cardio to keep moving, burn calories, and keep my weight down. Strength and conditioning is very important so I'll have that 3-4 times a week. That makes sure my body is ready to go, and my skills are to.
.) What do you like to do in your free time? I like to relax because training takes a lot out of you when you do it 3-4 times a day because we're fighting people, grapping, and wrestling with really good fighters. So, the days I'm not training, which is like a Sunday, I just like to hangout, take a ice bath, watch a movie, just chill! |
