What is your favorite part about being an MMA fighter?
I like the freedom of only fighting 4--5 times per year. I really like to spend time with my family. It isn't like a regular job that you have to clock in.
Who is the toughest fighter you have ever faced?
The toughest fighter was Amir Sadollah on the The Ultimate Fighter show.
If you were not a fighter, what would you be?
I would still be teaching high school and coaching wrestling. If it was my choice, I would be a movie actor.
Who were your heroes growing up?
I looked up to my dad and the Ninja Turles. That may sound kind of funny. I thought the Ninja Turtles were the best thing ever. My dad was my hero, because he worked so hard. I wanted to be just like him.
What was your favorite subject in school?
The only subject I was good at was history. That is how I got my degree in college. I wasn't good at math or English. Everyone is good at gym. I love reading and learning about the past. I want to know the history of my people and my family.
If you had the choice, who would you like to fight?
I don't want to fight nobody. I don't like fighting. Fighting is hard. The last fight I had was in 6th grade. I look at this as a competition like chess or pool. I don't look at it as me going in their fighting anyone. I see this more like a competition.
