UFC 168: Silva vs. Weidman Predictions

On July 6, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the legend Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman stepped into the cage together. Anderson Silva set the record for most consecutive wins (16) and the most consecutive title defenses (11). He holds stunning wins over Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar, Chael Sonnen, Yushin Okami. Silva was a nightmare in the middleweight division as people were afraid of him before they stepped in the cage with him, and no one was close to defeating him anytime soon, except for one man by the name of Chris Weidman, the wrestler from Hofstra University. Chris Weidman came into the fight with a record of 9-0, coming off wins over Mark Munoz, Alessio Sakara, Demian Maia. Chris Weidman ended up knocking out Anderson Silva with a spot on punch in the second round after Anderson Silva was clowning around a good amount.

On Saturday, December 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Anderson looks for revenge as he hopes to take the belt back home. Chris Weidman feels as if Silva will clown around all fight again. What do people in the fight business think the outcome will be?

Matthew Pearlman: I think that Weidman takes the gold home once again. I feel that if Weidman is getting beat standing with him, he can just take Silva to the mat, like he did in the first round of there last fight.

Randall Bailey (Former IBF Welterweight Champion): Anderson Silva by submission or knockout.

Yuriorkis Gamboa (Interim WBA Lightweight Champion): Silva!

Frank Trevino (UFC Fighter): Anderson Silva by KO.

Kenny Robertson (UFC Fighter): Weidman by decision.

James Krause (UFC Fighter): I want Weidman to win, but I go with Silva by decision.

Sean Spencer (UFC Fighter): What it's going to come down to is who has more respect for themselves as people and as fighters. Also, who has more respect for the sport of MMA in general. I honestly don't know what's going to happen but I will say that it's going to be an amazing fight! Silva will always be one of my favorites though.

Chico Camus (UFC Fighter): I go with Weidman by decision.

Randy Couture (UFC Hall of Fame): Weidman!

Shawn Jordan (UFC Fighter): Weidman. He'll beat him by awesomeness! I think he'll bully Silva again!

Jason High (UFC Fighter): Anderson Silva.

Jacob Noe (Bellator): I go Weidman 100%. I think he'll beat Silva by a second round cut, or ground and pound stoppage.

Georgi Karakhanyan (WSOF Featherweight Champion): Anderson Silva by TKO or Submission.

Chris Camozzi (UFC Fighter): I think Weidman wins the decision.

Daniel Straus (Bellator Featherweight Champion): I think Silva, but I want Weidman. I go with Silva via submission in round four.

Brandon Thatch (UFC Fighter): Anderson Silva by KO.

Cyborg Santos (Former Strikeforce Champion & Current INVICTA FC Champion): Anderson Silva by KO.

Michael Chandler (Former Bellator Champion): I'm going with Weidman all the way!

Steven Siler (UFC Fighter): I go with Weidman by submission in the third round.

Joshua Sampo (UFC Fighter): It depends on which Silva shows up. I still feel that Weidman will win but if will either be another KO, or Weidman will grind out a decision.

Alp Ozkilic (UFC Fighter): I'm usually wrong with my picks but I will go with Silva by TKO or KO, although I want Weidman to win.

Tim Boetsch (UFC Fighter): Anderson Silva by KO in round two.
