Johnson vs. Bagautinov Predictions

By: Matthew Pearlman

As you probably know, I am an avid MMA fan! With this being said, I personally love watching any fight in any division. If I had to choose a division, it would no doubt be the flyweight division. I find flyweights to be extremely fast and action packed fighters.

I don't know if it's just me, but when I hear "flyweights", I think of Mighty Mouse Johnson. Johnson is on a roll and constantly growing as a fighter. Dominant in mostly all of his fights, he showed in his last fight that he can be a finishing fighter when he took out the hard hitting well-rounded flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez.in the first round.

Johnson is getting back in the cage on June 14th against a fellow exciting fighter Ali Bagautinov. Bagautinov is no easy opponent, and has really gained a lot of attention in the UFC as he has defeated Lineker, Elliott, as well as Vinicius. With all of this being said, what do the fighters and I think the outcome will be?

Tecia Torres (Ultimate Fighter): Johnson!

Beneil Dariush (UFC Fighter): Johnson. He’s really well rounded.

Anthony Lapsley (UFC Vet): I’ve trained with Bagautinov. He’s a tough guy, I go with him by split decision.

Lyman Good (Former Bellator World Champion): DJ all the way.

Dan O’Connor (Titan FC Vet): Johnson

Kurt Holobaugh (UFC & Titan Vet): I’m taking Johnson. He’s too fast and good..

Dashon Johnson (UFC Newcomer): Johnson for sure. I honestly believe he’s the best fighter in MMA today. Just the simple fact that his stamina is like no other.

Tim Welch (Bellator): Johnson for sure.

Alp Ozkilic (UFC Fighter): Johnson by some kind of finish.

Steve Orosco (XPlode Fight Series): Johnson, he’s too fast.

Trevor Ward (MMA Fighter): Johnson!!!

Bobby Cooper (Bellator Veteran): Johnson. He’s too fast and good.

Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc (Invicta FC): Mighty Mouse by decision.

Michael Mucitelli (Bellator Fighter): I’m actually going to go for the upset with Bagautinov. His boxing and sambo as a combo is perfect to give Johnson fits.

Adam McDonough (Bellator Fighter): Johnson by third round TKO.

Anthony Leone (Bellator World Title Challenger): Johnson I think.

Estevan Payan (UFC Vet): Johnson will win. He’s too fast and athletic for Ali.

Laura Sanko (Amateur MMA Fighter): Tough! I think Bagautinov might be too big and strong for DJ.

Joe Wilk (MMA Fighter): Johnson. Hume is a great coach and will have Mighty Mouse ready.

Dennis Bermudez (UFC Fighter): DJ by decision.

Sam Oropeza (Bellator Fighter): Johnson!!! By TKO in the fourth round.

Joshua Sampo (UFC Fighter): Going with Johnson by UD. He has too much speed for Ali. He does have the ability to get caught with a big shot, but I feel Mighty Mouse takes this one with his constant improvements and fast pace.

Scott Holtzman (XFC World Champion): Johnson in the fourth round by submission.

Ken Porter (Titan Vet): Johnson all the way. He is a true champion and he works hard!

Rudy Bears (MMA Fighter): Johnson by TKO in the fourth round.

Ryan Benoit (UFC Fighter): Johnson. Too experienced, fast, and good.

JJ Ambrose (Bellator Vet): Johnson for sure by TKO in the second or third round.

Chris Tickle (Competed on Ultimate Fighter): Johnson by TKO.

Will Campuzano (UFC Vet): Ali Bagautinov by decision.

Marcio Navarro (Bellator Vet): Will be hard to take the title away from Johnson, with this being said, I have Johnson winning 50-45 all five rounds.

Rick Hawn (Bellator World Title Challenger): Johnson by decision.

Tim Elliott (UFC Fighter): Johnson will smash him, he will be too much for Bagautinov.

Carson Beebe (WSOF Veteran): Johnson. He’s too fast!

Zach Freeman (MMA Fighter): I’ll go with Johnson.

Matt Ricehouse (Former Strikeforce Competitor): Johnson is the top pound for pound in the world. Anything could happen but I take Mighty Mouse by TKO.

Jacob Noe (Bellator Vet): Johnson has been looking good lately!

Myles Jury (UFC Fighter): Johnson. I think his style matches up well against Ali. Johnson is very hard to hit and Ali loads up to throw power shots, and Johnson will see them coming. Obviously, Johnson has championship experience so that’s a huge plus. I see it being an exciting fight with both fighters having their moments. I see Johnson finishing it in the fourth or fifth round via stoppage.

Matt Manzanares (RFA World Champion): Mighty Mouse of course!

Daniel Straus (Former Bellator World Champion): Johnson.

David Rickels (Bellator Fighter): Johnson by second round TKO.

Chico Camus (UFC Fighter): Johnson.

Tim Boetsch (UFC Fighter): Johnson by stoppage in round two.

Ricardo Lamas (UFC World Title Challenger): Johnson. He is just too technical and well-rounded. I don’t see anyone taking the belt for a while.

Roger Bowling (UFC Vet): Bagautinov I’m taking. I think Johnson’s ride I over for a while.

James Krause (UFC Fighter): Johnson easily.

Eddie Gordon (MMA Fighter): I have to go with the champ DJ. He is a stud and one of the best pound for pound.

Michael Chandler (Former Bellator World Champion): Johnson! By third round TKO.

Kenny Robertson (UFC Fighter): Johnson for sure.

Chris Beal (UFC Fighter): I’m sticking with the champ DJ. He is a beast.

Chris Camozzi (UFC Fighter): Johnson by decision.

TJ Grant (UFC Fighter): I don’t know to be honest! Johnson deserves to be the favorite but not 5-1. I think Bagautinov has the tools to upset him.

Brennan Ward (Bellator Contender): Bagautinov because he’s very tough.

Ian McCall (UFC Fighter): I’d like to see Ali win, but you can’t count Mighty Mouse out.

Colton Smith (UFC Fighter): Johnson is so fast and athletic, I think he’ll win by decision.

Mitch Clarke (UFC Fighter): Johnson by decision.

Andy Enz (UFC Fighter): Bagautinov by ground and pound.

John Moraga (UFC Contender): Johnson!

Shawn Jordan (UFC Fighter): I’m going with Johnson.

As you see, Mighty Mouse Johnson is the favorite in many of the fighters eyes. What do you think the outcome will be?
