Chris Seip Post-Fight Interview

By: Matthew Pearlman

On September 20th, Chris Seip stepped in the cage with Ace Anderson in Affton Missouri. Seip dominated Anderson and got the win by TKO. Find my post fight interview with him below.

Matthew: You had dominate position throughout the fight, talk to me about the fight.

Chris: I tried to keep pressure on him because I didn't want him standing. The coaches were telling me to keep my hands in his face, so I kept my hands on him. I striked with him. He was alright on the bottom, defended the best he could. I just stayed busy and I got the W.

Matthew: You has full mount after slamming him. Were you surprised he tapped?

Chris: No. I slammed him and my shoulder went into his rib, and I felt a pop as soon as we hit the ground. He was yelling, "tap". It's not the way I wanted it to end, but a win is a win.

Matthew: Who do you want to fight next?

Chris: I'm just going to go back to basics and just restart. Restart with my coaches and get every thing started again. I've got 3 boys that wrestle and I coach them, and I just bought a house, so I'm in between what I'll be doing. I'll be back for sure though.

Matthew: What was the toughest part of the fight?

Chris: I got him down pretty easy, and nothing really impressed me about his ground game, the crazy strikes he was throwing, those big punches made me keep my distance. I wanted to let him wear himself out. I'm impressed with myself because I've made a lot of changes, and I did well.

Matthew: You were a professional bull rider, how has bull riding helped you in MMA?

Chris: My grip strength and my center of balance. Trying to stay on a bull and getting full mount on somebody, they can't really get you off.

Congrats to Chris Seip on his win! I look forward to seeing what's next for him!
