1.) What has been your career highlight?

Winning the Gold Medal at the World Cup was a pretty big highlight at this point.

2.) What is your favorite part about being a soccer player?

It allows me to travel the world and meet so many cool, interesting people. It’s given me the opportunity to meet teammates and players overseas.

3.) If you weren’t a soccer player, what would you be?

I have my degree in kinesiology, so I’d probably use that. I may have had my own training facility working with other athletes, doing strength and conditioning stuff.

4.) Tell me some of your goals for 2015-2016.

Goals for 2015 would just be to finish strong and end on a good note between games and training. My goals for 2016 would be to work towards the Olympics. I want to make the qualifying roster.

5.) When you’re not playing soccer, what do you like to do?

I like to take it easy and just hang out with friends. We go to the movies or go to a BBQ, I just relax.

6.) What does a typical training day look like?

Wake up, make myself breakfast, get to the locker rooms by 9AM, start getting ready for training at 10AM, head up to the field, train 10-12, stretch and do rehab, sometimes we’ll have a second session sometime in the afternoon, get some lunch, and figure out what we can do to enjoy the afternoon!

7.) For people who are looking to become a soccer player, what advice would you tell them?

Don’t be nervous to step outside of the comfort zone. You can learn a little more about yourself when you step outside of the comfort zone. Try to learn as much as you can from as many different people as you can. There are a lot of people with a lot of different opinions, so when you can combine those perspectives, and create your own, it can be helpful.
